Safety firstly. On Sep.13th 2016, Hong Yan, deputy secretary, Hou Wei and Zhao Zheng-an, vine dean, Xie Xiao-fen, director of office and Qiu Chao, postgraduate counselor, had conducted a comprehensive safety inspection around the whole college including lab safety, biosafety, sanitation and so on.
It is in the lab for teachers and students that they have spent most of working times each day. To more important, it is very easy for them to ignore security. So school leadership always pay high attention to lab safety and go to each labs for checking security regularly or irregularly. Now it was at the beginning of the new semester. In order to eliminate security threat in labs, we carried out lab safety inspection.
On examination, safety in the most of the labs were in good condition. Students did the experiments seriously according to the requirement, and abode by the rules and regulations of the lab. But we found that there were still some problems. For example, some students ate in the lab and put food or beverage on the bench as before. And the door was open when they left the lab. We also noticed that they didn’t do cleaning and throw rubbish in time in several labs. More seriously, the emergency exit was occupied by many stuff. So we immediately pointed out these problems and contact their tutors to rectification. We stressed that the lab safety is very important for everyone, whether teachers or students. It is responsible for us to give a safe, health, good learning and scientific research environment like our own home.
