Research Center for Medical and Structural Biology
About us
The Research Center for Medical and Structural Biology (RCMSB) in Wuhan University (WHU) was founded in 2003. It is a multidisciplinary center that combines research and educational resources from WHU dedicated to provide a collegial environment for scientists pursuing a broad range of life science investigation.
The RCMSB is now an important platform for the medical research in WHU and locates at the No.1 building of the School of Basic Medical Science, which covers an area of two thousand square meters and owns around 50 sets of scientific instruments worth of more than 35 millions Yuan RMB. The instruments currently available for researchers include: ultra-high resolution confocal fluorescence microscope, flow cytometer, small animal in vivo imaging device, living cells workstation, micro operating system, macromolecule and small molecule computer simulation software, research-grade upright fluorescence microscope, single-cell patch clamp, patch clamp amplifier system, biomolecular interaction analysis system, protein separation and purification system, transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope. The RCMSB is committed to provide our scientists the state-of-the-art facilities and the best service to conduct innovative scientific exploration.
In addition to its basic research and management goals, the RCMSB sponsors short courses and training programs for undergraduate and graduate students, and offers education opportunities for faculty interested in the use of high-end instruments for medical research.
