Believe in dreams, create greater prosperity
--2017 New Year Gala at School of Basic Medical Sciences was successfully held
On December 30th, 2016, the 2017 New Year Gala, the theme of which is “Believe in dreams, create greater prosperity” was successfully held in the YuBi Lecture Hall in the 8th building of Wuhan University School of Medicine. During the Gala, all the staff and students gathered together, singing and dancing to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
The party started with the medley of songs "Our New Style" from the Animal Experimental Center / A3 Laboratory / Model Animal Research Institute. Combined with medical professional features, the adapted lyrics had lots of fun, which not only reflected our teachers' teaching and scientific research, but also showed the style of teachers, and successfully ignited the atmosphere of the audiences. Afterwards, the catwalk "Fantastic Show" performed by undergraduate students was filled with youth and set off a new wave of upsurge as well. Next, the graduate students performed a vibrant song and dance "Boom Clap". The song and dance "Iron Blood, Loyal Heart" from Experimental Teaching Center was full of emotion and remembrance. Later, the dance "See the North Wind Again" from teachers of Department of Human Anatomy and Embryology integrated graceful dance into the melodious touching song. Next was "A Plum" from teachers of Department of Physiology and Medical Genetics. With the deep accompaniment of Erhu (a two-stringed bowed musical instrument), a male teacher and a female teacher stared at each other, with eyes full of affection, both of them sang melodiously. With brilliant background, colorful, magnificent and bright fans dance "My Motherland" from Structure Center, Department of Biomedical Engineering and Institute of Medical Virology union group wished our motherland all the best. The sword dance "Fishing Boat Singing Late" performed by a teacher from the Senior Citizen Association and an undergraduate students surprised us. The teacher showed extraordinary sword dance, and the student gave us an affectionate performance. In the middle of the Gala, graduate student played Guitar incorporating the solo dance "I really hurt," with sincere and moving emotion. Coming to the most perfect one, the song and dance "National Unity" had a strong local flavor. Exquisite costumes and wonderful songs made audiences personally in the magnificent mountains and rivers of the motherland, which won a burst of warm applause. Performing "The rose" & "Rock around the clock", undergraduates ATP choir not only sang well, their dance was also not inferior. Amazingly, international students brought the dynamic and lively dance "Desi -hoppers "for us. At last, the staff of administrative authorities brought the chorus "Believe in Dreams". Teachers summed up the harvest of last year with such an optimistic song, which is full of positive energy, while also looking forward to a better year.
In the interactive session, audiences joined in the game in a warm atmosphere, and looked for the lottery tickets previously hidden in the seats by the staff.
Finally, with the leadership’s blessing, the party ended perfectly. We believe that tomorrow will be better!
