Professor Li Hongliang Won Tan Jiazhen Life Science AwardAnd China Cooperative Innovation Award

On November 18, Tan Jiazhen 10th Anniversary Award for Life Science Awardwas held in the lecture hall of the main building of Tsinghua University in Beijing. Professor Li Hongliang won the "Tanjiazhen Life Science Innovation Award".

Attending the awards ceremony were Academician Chen Zhu, Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Academician Sang Guowei, Vice Chairman of the NPC, AcademicianWang Zhizhen, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative (CPPCC) National Committee, Academician Yang Wei,director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Academician Huang Wei, vice Minister of Science and Technology, Du Zhanyuan, vice Minister of Education, Academician Huai Jinpeng, Party Secretary of China Association for Science and Technology, Academician Cao Xuetao, Chairman of the Association for Life Science and Technology of China Association for Science and Technology, Academician Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, Academician Rao Zihe and well-known academicians in the field of life science.

The "Tan Jiazhen Life Science Award" was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. Once a year, it is awarded to scientists engaged in life sciences and made great achievements, or young scholars who have made innovative research achievements, and made outstanding contributions to the industrialization of life sciences . It is known as the "Nobel Prize" in Chinese life sciences. The award is set up to commemorate one of the founders of Chinese modern genetics - Professor Tan Jiazhen which held from 2008 to the present, a total of 20 scientists won the Achievement Award, four clinicians won the Clinical Medicine Award, six experts won the Industrialization Award, 92 young scholars won the Innovation Award.

On November 12, the 11th China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration and Innovation Conference was held in Jinan. The conference honored the units and individuals that won the awards of cooperation in industry, university and research this year. Professor Li Hongliang won the China Cooperative Innovation Award.

Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of China Association of Science and Technology, Lu Yongxiang,former Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, President of the China Research Institute for Research Cooperation, Gong Zheng, governor of Shandong Provincial People's Government and other leaders presented award to winning units and individual.

China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Innovation and Promotion Award is an annual award approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the State Science and Technology Awards Office. It is organized and implemented by the China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association. The award was established in 2009, divided into five awards, including Innovation Award, Promotion Award, Innovation Achievement Award, Outstanding Contribution Award and Civil-Military Integration Award. It is the only highest honor award in China that is the combination of government, industry, research and scholarships.
