Research Description

The research focuses on HFV (Human foamy virus, also called Prototype foamy virus) infection, the interaction between HFV and host cells (including proteins and non-coding RNAs), the molecular biology of viral replication, innate immunity control of viral replication, gene therapy by HFV vector.

2. The research focuses on EV71 (Human Enterovirus 71) and CA16 (Coxsachievirus A16) infection and pathogenic mechanism, especially the interaction between EV71/ CA16 and neural cells to leading to the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) frequently accompanied by severe neurological complications, new vaccine or antiviral drug screening and development.
