Research Description

We are interested in a novel gene PEG10, which were highly expressed in a great majority of cancers but absent in normal tissues. Our results demonstrated that PEG10 enhanced the apoptotic resistance and adherence ability of Raji cells. It also could affect the migration and invasion capacity of Raji cells by regulating the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9. Our data also showed that PEG10 gene closely related with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in invasion and metastasis of lung cancer. Our findings suggested that PEG10 play an important role in cancers and drugs inhibiting PEG10 could be a novel approach for the cancer chemotherapy.
